| MSF has begun scheduling “Gems of the HeArt” parties, which are designed to provide a fun, relevant, and creative way to unite mothers and daughters with the mission of the Manna Scholarship Fund. These jewelry-making parties are typically held in homes with several (up to 24 people) mothers and daughters who create their own masterpieces to wear, as well as making a similar piece for the MSF. This intimate gathering is designed to facilitate a discussion between the mother/daughter pair regarding typical eating disorder issues (body image, self-esteem, the importance of healthy communication between mother and daughter). There is a charge for the cost of the supplies; all proceeds go to MSF. The pieces created for MSF are then either given in a gift basket to an MSF recipient, or they are later sold at a separate fundraising event, the Mother/Daughter Tea, and/or online. “Gems of the HeArt” was developed as an on-going event, and is held at multiple times throughout the year. Please contact info@mannafund.org to set up a jewelry party in your home, church, or school. |
